Mingimingi (Coprosma propinqua)

Also known as swamp coprosma with a mature height/width 6mx2m

A great small leaved divaricating bushy shrub for open exposed sites, seaside propertys and coastal forest gardens with dense wide-angled branches. The small leaves are glossy and dark green on grey or orange bark.  Flowering occurs between February and March with separate male and female plants. Pollination occurs by wind. The stunningly beautiful fruit in autumn is a drupe, in a pale coloration when unripe, turning dark blue or blue-flecked when ripe and is eaten and  dispersed by many species of native birds as well as insects and reptiles.
